Our 2013/2014 Homeschool Curriculum

It never fails that I always change things up in our homeschool curriculum. I get introduced to something new, or just want to try something new to keep things fresh. There is also life changes that play a part in my choices. For instance our newest addition to the family will be here in December. So, I am planning around her birth as I am doing things too.

2013-2014 Homeschool Curriculum

Everyone will be using the following on their appropriate level.

Reading-For the older 2 they are using the library with journals. For the twins they are using All About Reading Level 1.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the bulk of what we will be doing this year. I am really excited about our choices, and am looking forward to getting started. The first few boxes have already arrived, and with each delivery the kids are getting more excited.

Planning and Prayer

All morning I have been working on planning our school year out. I usually take a day or two before we start school just to map out a general idea of what we are doing for the year. Then about once a month, throughout the school year, I do a detailed lesson plan. This helps me to stay on top of things and know where we stand.

As I was filling in all of our dates and plans, I could hear the Holy Spirit say, “Have you asked me what MY plan is for your children’s school year?” I had prayed about our curriculum choices and went with what I felt led to do, but I had not stopped to pray before my planning session. It is so easy to forget that God cares about the tiniest of details. Not only does he care what curriculum choices we are making, but he also cares about our daily schedules. After all, he knows exactly how things are going to go that day and what challenges or victories we will encounter. So it makes perfect sense that we would want to be a part of your planning session.



So I stopped and had some prayer time and let me tell you, it works! My planning session went smoothly and without frustration. That is how it should be! I love this time of the year, I love getting new curriculum in the mail, and I love all the new supplies. I love looking at the goals for each child laid all out in front of me and imagining the future as they accomplish those goals.



Most homeschool moms will agree that seeing the look on your child’s face as they conquer a new task, is the most rewarding moment you can have. I am praying for each of you to have a blessed year and that it far exceeds you and your children’s expectations.
